Abstracts clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate ICD10 and CPT codes to patient records according to established procedures. Reviews coding denials for accounts receivable team, providing guidance to them for appeals. Works various error reports and coding returns. Must have knowledge of CPT and ICD10 coding. Knowledge of CCI edits helpful. Responsible for meeting productivity standards, identify and issues or trends and bring them to the attention of management team, work on special projects and other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB Qualifications
Education / Training:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent work experience
Business Experience:
1+ years' work experience
Minimum of 6 months medical coding experience
Additional Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of medical coding
Organized
Detail Oriented
10,000 alpha / numeric keying speed
Computer literate
Working Conditions:
Office Environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
