Press Technician (5538)

Provide support to achieve quality, productivity and safety to assure internal and external customer satisfaction. Strive to exceed all goals associated with assigned press line. Reports directly to the Stamping Supervisor. Interfaces on a frequent basis with Materials, Quality, Tool & Die, and Engineering. Interfaces on an as needed basis with Human Resources, Accounting and IT. Receives technical direction from the maintenance department.
Roles and Responsibilities:
(Including, but not limited to):
Support the enterprise's mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities.
Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ie; Quality Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II Procedures, etc.)
Responsible for reporting all accidents or injuries, however minor, and all work place hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Responsible for following all plant/MIOSHA environmental, health and safety procedures in performing daily work activities.
Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized and verify that PPE is worn correctly at all times.
Maintain high standard of housekeeping in the work area following 5S procedures.
Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the operation.
Complete alternate duties when primary duties are complete or not running.
Participate in team problem solving activities as required.
Interface with customers, contractors and suppliers as appropriate.
Support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and registration through maintaining ISO14001 & TS16949 registration.
Assist with plant activities as required to achieve quality, productivity & cost reduction goals.
Responsible for daily throughput of line.
Report any and all bottlenecks to the appropriate personnel.
Program and operate line automation and presses.
Champion of die change operation.
Identify and recommend process improvements through issue resolution cards.
Maintain sprayer system.
Maintain tooling in good working order.
Assist on new job set-ups.
Coordinate line operation activities with the Supervisor.
Assist in line break down repairs.
Interface with the Tool and Die and Quality departments to assure production meets customer requirements.
Perform preventative maintenance on press line and automation.
Complete all paperwork and charts as required.
Support and lead team members.

Root cause / problem solving ability
Demonstrated ability operating automation and press line
2-3 years experience working in plant maintenance preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude
Basic understanding of presses, dies, and automation
Knowledgeable in programming and operating presses
Very good knowledge of manual and auto die change operation
Good working knowledge of tooling set-up and maintenance
Ability to troubleshoot and correct part quality issues

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
