Material Handler I - D-Shift

D-Shift: 7pm - 7am, 7 rotating days in 2 week period
Job Summary
Under close supervision, performs a variety of tasks to ensure that the packaging, raw materials, components, and/or molded parts needs for assigned production areas are met. Follows work assignments as specified in operating manuals, work instructions and written procedures; may work out of central warehouse.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Loads, unloads and conveys materials within or near plant and performs a combination of support tasks under specific direction; which may include shipping and/or receiving.
Opens containers using hand tools; counts and weighs materials and records information.
Check incoming materials and report shortage or damaged materials.
Loads and unloads trucks; moves material within a warehouse or storage facility to and from the loading platform by carrying, pushing, rolling, or operating hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, motorized conveyors, or other material handling equipment.
Stacks or assembles materials; aids machine operator by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist.
Moves, stores and spaces materials as directed.
Warehouse stock and deliver to designated department or location.
Returns unused material to the warehouse, properly labeled and updated.
May assist in coordinating material and equipment changes.
Observes all health and safety requirements and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.
Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.
Education & Experience Requirements
High School Diploma/GED and 0 years experience
Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedures manuals and ability to maintain records.
May require ability to lift materials of up to 40 pounds.
Pulling, pushing, sitting, reaching, and standing for up to ten (10) hours per day.
Must wear protective equipment as required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
