Material Handler
Shift is Monday -Friday, 7am-5:
30pm. Some additional hours may be required.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks to ensure that the packaging, raw materials, components needs for assigned production areas are met. Follows work assignments as specified in, work instructions and written procedures.
This position reports directly to Logistics Coordinator.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Logistics
Receiving
Receive materials from trucks and assist with unloading.
Inspect material/delivery for damages and quantity before signing authorization of receipt; reject damage materials; work with Logistics Coordinator to rectify damages and shortages.
Ability to be licensed to operate all power lift equipment needed to unload incoming freight and operate lift equipment as required.
Transport material to assigned locations.
Must keep a safe and neat area to receive packages and freight.
Shipping
Inspect material for damages and quantity before packing.
Package materials in damage-proof packaging for shipment.
Ability to be licensed to operate all power lift equipment needed to load outgoing freight and operate lift equipment as required to load shipments.
Ability to use power tools.
Build crates for shipping as needed.
Must keep a safe, neat and well stocked area to prepare packages and freight.
Material Handler
Moves, stores and places materials as directed.
Warehouse stock and deliver to designated department or location.
Assist in coordinating material changes.
Must keep a safe, neat staging area for raw material.
General
Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.
Ensures compliance with all company policies and practices in areas such as safety and all regulatory compliance.
Education & Experience Requirements
High School diploma required.
2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
