Boiler Operator

Leads department in operating the boiler in 3 areas:
1.
Safety 2.
Maintaining compliance with all local and federal agencies 3.
Operating the boiler to meet steam pressure needed for wood drying.
Responsibilities:
A total staff of 4 operators (Supervisor included) who operate boiler and turbine 24 hours a day, 7 days a week per expectations below.
3-12 hour shifts and 1-6 hour shift per week Expectations:
Operate within all corporate safety guidelines.
Operate boiler within compliance guidelines (emissions, water, etc.
) while ensuring that all necessary compliance information is being recorded properly.
Maintain adequate line pressure needed for wood drying - communicate daily with Kiln Drying Manager and Boiler Room Supervisor.
Maintain electrical generation (turbine) at a minimum rate of $7,500.
00 a month.
Ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
Work with dry end maintenance staff to fix broken equipment ASAP.
Communicate with all necessary people to ensure boiler has enough fuel at all times.
Assist in completion of daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual boiler room preventative maintenance schedule and keep track of sheets.
